LAST WISH by Tsering Yankee

my school

Decade have passed but still I am in India
My hair have turned white and wrinkles on my face
I was a young man of thirty
Who after the red Chinese invasion left his country
I am seventy now nearing death but
far from my country
This is the last time I will shed my tears
These tears are only for you my beloved country
My beloved country which gave me love and identity

No one can ever escape from death
Death is certain for all those born on this earth
But the love for my beloved country will never die.

Before my death dear God, let my last wish be fulfilled
So that in peace I can go, even to hell!
And my last wish is I want to be born again
In a free and independent Tibet
With the leadership of His Holiness the XVth DALAI LAMA.
